Review:
“I KILLED THE BOSS, YOU THINK THERE NOT GONNA FIRE ME FOR THAT!” This show was amazing. I was lucky enough to get to see the full show on YouTube & I thought it was amazing! I could not wait till I could see it live. This tour is brilliant. The cast replacements from Broadway are wonderful choices. Dee Hoty was great as Violet. She was a better singer then Allison, but to be honest she wasn’t as funny as Allison. But still was a great actress and had her moments. Diana DeGarmo was wonderful as Doralee. At times her voice was very nasal and high which got a bit annoying. When she sang it was amazing, she also had some great acting chops (Amazing acting in “Backwoods Barbie’). In a way she passed up Megan because I felt she commanded the stage better and was so funny. Mamie Parris was BRILLIANT as Judy. Her acting and singing were beyond jaw dropping. She was a powerhouse during “Get Out And Stay Out.” Joseph Mahwald & Kristine Zbornik worked very well together and had some great songs. All of the audience fell out of their seats laughing at the end of “Heart To Hart.” The sets weren’t the best, but worked well for the tour. The actors would set them in place when they weren’t even technically supposed to be on, it got a tiny bit distracting. I did however like the new introductions in the virtual clack by Dolly Parton. For this being the last show in Chicago they really went out with a bang. I also really loved my seats we were in the mezzanine witch was the closest balcony to the stage, they were really close. I really would rate this show 9.5/10 ;D
Stage Door:
I went to the stage door and waited for 45 minutes and no one came out so I left. I found out later everyone went out the front :(
