Review:
WOW! This show took me to heaven. Sister Act is wonderful. First off, I bought tickets that were in the middle of the balcony that were decent. Then, everyone in the balcony was moved to the main floor or the box seats. My mom and I were put in a box! The view from there was kind of weird, but it still was great! The show well where do I begin! Ta'rea Campbell is FABULOUS! She is my second favorite Deloris. Sorry, but no one will ever beat Patina. Ta'rea's voice is jaw dropping. That girl can belt the shit out of songs. I also noticed how her voice got better as the show went on. It was like she was thinking, "If you thought I sang that shit, wait till you hear this!” Well, all I got to say now is DAMN! Hollis Resnik was great as Mother Superior. She has a fantastic voice. Her "Haven't Got A Prayer" reminded me a lot of Victoria Clarke, but younger sounding. It was also great to see Kingsley Leggs as Curtis. After all he was the OBC Curtis! He has a great voice. Lael Van Keuren was a tiny powerhouse as Sister Mary Robert. She made my draw drop after "The Life I Never Led". Her belt is extraordinary! Florrie Bagel and Diane J. Findlay were both equally hilarious as Sister Mart Patrick & Sister Mary Lazarous. Dashaun Young was on for Eddie and he was great. Amazing Voice! Lastly, Melvin Abston was on for TJ and he was freaking hilarious! The whole show itself was awesome! The set however, was weird. It looked like some stayed the same from Broadway and a couple other pieces were made cheaply, it didn't blend well to me. But, the colors (which were mostly red, blue, and purple) made the stage look so bright and beautiful. There was also a Broadway Cares: Equity Fights AIDS after the show as well. At the end I would give sister act a 9/10 :D
Stage Door:
Stage door was interesting! I met a lot of people and got them to sign my Playbill and program. I got it signed first by Ta'rea Campbell. She was so nice. Then Richard Pruitt came out and signed. Then I realized my sharpie was barley working so you can’t even see his signature and some other person’s one on the program. Thankfully I brought 2! Someone signed over the signature by the T in Act. Then Florrie Bagel, Lael Van Keuren, and a bunch of other people came out and they were super nice! Finally, Kingsley Leggs came out and we talked for a couple of minutes. He was supper nice and cool! Lastly, Melvin Abston came out and he was super nice, and we talked for like ten minutes! Then he left and we went home.
